For Algae Prevention
To prevent algae in your pool, apply Algae Shield® at a dose
of 1 ounce per 1,000 gallons of pool water, once a month. DO
NOT ADD Algae Shield® more than once a month and do not
exceed this recommended dosage rate.
For An Existing Algae Bloom
If algae is already visible in your pool, send Algae Shield®
to the Rescue!
1. Add Algae Shield® at a rate of 2 ounces per 1,000 gallons
of water. 2. Run filter constantly for 48 hours. 3. Add a standard chlorine shock to oxidize any dead algae.
DO NOT ADD ANY Algae Shield® for 30 days and do not exceed
this recommended dosage rate. After 30 days, apply Algae
Shield® at a rate of 1 ounce per 1,000 gallons once a month
to prevent reoccurrence (see FOR ALGAE PREVENTION instructions
above.)
Winter Algae Prevention
A single treatment of Algae Shield® at the end of the swim
season is normally all it takes to keep a pool crystal clear
until spring.
1. Balance water. 2. Shock the pool with a standard chlorine shock. 3. Clean pool and backwash filter. 4. Add 1 ounce of Algae Shield® per 1,000 gallons of pool
water. 5. Follow pool equipment manufacturer's freeze
recommendations. Unused Algae Shield® must be stored
at a
temperature above 32 degrees Fahrenheit. 6. Cover pool and shut down filter. 7. In the spring, open pool per your pool retailer’s
instructions.
